“Never say never” is sound advice.
Cliches become cliches because there’s basic truth to them.
We all know what it’s like to swear we’ve just done something for the last time only to one day find ourselves right back at that same thing again.
So “never say never” is a good policy.
Except when it isn’t.
There are a few times when “never” is the right thing to say.
Never stop learning.
Never accept “conventional wisdom” uncritically.
Never blindly trust anything, but -
Never stop trusting completely just because some lie and betray.
Never stop loving no matter how many times your heart gets broken.
Never quit, if you’re doing the right thing.
Never let anyone else set limits for you, and -
Never be quick to set limits for yourself.
Never listen to anyone who says, “It can’t be done.”
Never give up on your dreams, and -
Never stop trying to live them.
Never say never, except when you should.
